Just found out one of my photos will be published in a magazine. It wasn't anything special, just a friend of mine who's being recognized and she asked me to take her head shot. Since this whole publication thing is more about her than me it doesn't really matter to me about payment or compensation, but I did ask if I was going to get a "photography by" attribute. She said she didn't know. :( [photo unrelated] #Charlie

A Day With the Dogs

Image
Not that every day isn't spent with the Dummies, but this day had great light.

Rufus and the Coyotes

Image
Took Rufus and Charlie to the dog park yesterday. It was a barren wasteland of cold, cold and more cold. With temperatures ranging from 0°-1° Fahrenheit in the middle of the day, not many people took their canine companions out for a romp at the park. In the (somewhere near) 200 acres at this dog park we passed only three other people, with four cars in the parking lot. It's not always a bad thing being alone at the dog park. It can sometimes be cathartic to stuff my phone in my pocket and just be  without having to answer to someone, entertain another or be at the beck and call of metal wrapped in plastic. So there we were, walking along minding our own business; me with my hands in gloves stuffed in my pockets, beanie cap constantly trying to free itself from my head, heavy coat buttoned up over a turtleneck sweater and heavy boots (rated to -40°) to trundle through the snow and polarized sunglasses to protect me from the blinding glare. The dogs, especially Charlie, having t...

Tug-o-War

Image
I haven't posted recently since my computer went kaput, but I've been wanting to, so here's a couple of Android shots of Charlie playing tug-o-stick with Willow, the pit bull mix at the dog park this morning. These are, of course, edited with Snapseed.

The Dogs

Image
My dog Rufus and my roommate's dog, Charlie. I haven't shared pictures of them recently, at least not on this blog and these Android shots were sitting on my phone collecting electronic dust. I have some pictures from last weekend's Zombie Crawl to upload as well and will hopefully get those out in the next day or two. As always, these were edited with Google's Snapseed mobile app before sharing.

A Few More Pics from the Dog Park

Image
I went ahead and edited some more pictures from yesterday's outing to the dog park. All of these are edited with Snapseed and were captured with my Note II. At the Dog Park

Image
For the first time in weeks I brought Dumb and Dumber to the dog park. They're having a blast however neither one of them wanted to model for me. Plus this Android's camera is slow. Here are a couple of shot of the two dogs, edited with Snapseed, for your comedic pleasure. Cookies

Image
Sweet delicious chunky chocolate chip cookies. Yum. Better yet, sweet delicious, moist, Costco chunky chocolate chip cookies. Great for the taste buds and terrible for the waistline. But I couldn't help myself. Costco has a current rebate on their glorious cookies at $1.50 off retail pricing. And I loved them. Every single one of them: with milk, without milk, as the heat of the mid-day Sun melted the chocolate chunks and the cool counter-top air kept them solid. Costco bakery cookies are some of the best manufactured cookies in these United States and I have to force myself not to buy them every time I go into the store. Yeah, self-discipline is a bitch. However, with the discount, even at only $1.50 off their normal price, I caved in and bought a package of 24 large chocolaty bliss -- and had a couple on the drive home. Then another with dinner, and another for an after dinner snack. Then the next morning with milk, for breakfast. And a mid-morning snack. And then I ...

Fun at the Park

Image
Took Rufus and Charlie to the dog park for a little fun in the Colorado Sun. I didn't bring the dSLR and regretted it almost immediately as the dogs that were there were very photogenic. The grass had some yellow flowers sprouting all over the place, so I tried to grab a couple of shots of the dogs in the green and yellow. Below are some of those Android shots, edited with the Snapseed app.
